A Moment of Normalcy

The days between Holocaust Remembrance Day, which tells our story as a people, and Independence Day, which tells our story as a nation, find us this year in a time of great unrest. Yet, specifically within this complexity, we felt that at our Harish and Netanya branches, this was exactly the time to create a moment of sanity and a reason to smile for our children.

With zero lead time but an abundance of goodwill and open hearts, our teams and volunteers mobilized to organize Independence Day celebrations that were both respectful and joyful. ✨

  • At the Harish Branch: We enjoyed a mesmerizing light show and an acrobat who left us all speechless. And of course, we couldn’t skip a hot serving of falafel—the hallmark of a true Israeli holiday.

  • At the Netanya Branch: We boosted morale with a high-energy music party, a DJ, a face painter who brightened the kids' day with color, and treats that simply warmed the heart.

The numbers speak for themselves, but the looks in the children's eyes speak even louder: 75 participants (children with special needs) together with nearly 100 wonderful mentors, proving that even when the winds outside are stormy, love and connection are the ultimate counterforce.

Thank you to everyone who took part, Thank you to our volunteers who never rest for a moment, And thank you to our children, who remind us every single day what true strength looks like.

Because always—now is the time to act. 💙
