Celebrating Lag BaOmer
On Lag BaOmer, when the air is filled with the smell of bonfires and children devour melted marshmallows, even at "It's Time to Do" Yishmadura is much more than a tradition – it is a moment of belonging, of freedom and human warmth.
Not just fire, but connection
Our activity on Lag BaOmer is built around the central value that guides us throughout the year: togetherness.
Around the campfires of the association's branches across the country, campers, volunteers and families meet for an evening that is entirely a sensory and emotional experience. This is the time when the spirit of foolishness meets the shared action of preparing food around the fire, which unites everyone.
The hug that strengthens us all
There are small moments within this evening that stay with us long after the embers whisper:
The relaxation: When the campers feel at home, protected and wrapped.
The action: When everyone contributes their part to the shared campfire, each according to their ability.
The power: In the moments when we hug them, we discover again and again how much they are the ones who strengthen us and remind us of what is truly important.
Spread the light further
The activity on Lag BaOmer is just one stop on a long path of action for children with special needs and their families. The light we light together at the campfire continues to accompany us in summer camps, on joint Shabbats, and in ongoing activities at the branches.
We invite you to be a part of this light. Support, volunteer, and ensure that next year, too, there will not be a single child left out of the circle.
